Concert program 2023

Joseph Haydn was the great musical innovator of the 18th century. With classic.Esterhazy we visit his compositional milestones, especially in genres such as the string quartet and the symphony, forms that were created anew here at Esterházy Palace.
In March 2023, for example, we begin a String Quartet Festival with established master quartet ensembles and the latest winners of the Banff and Wigmore Hall competitions. As with last year, the Resident Orchestra in Eisenstadt is the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, whose programmes are centred around Viennese Classics, joined this year by such greats as Lisa Batiashvilli, Jan Liesicki, Robin Ticciati, and Andrew Manze. Also featured on the 2023 programme are Il Giardino Armonico and the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra, who under their artistic directors Giovanni Antonini and Ton Koopman are setting new standards in the interpretation of Haydn's music, and a mini-song festival with Florian Boesch. Together with Heinz Ferlesch and Barucco we have also created special format, 'A Courtly Feast'. Visitors of all ages can experience and enjoy courtly life, culinary delights, and music in the palace rooms.
The summer concert with the Angelika Prokopp Orchestra Academy of the Vienna Philharmonic and the Pannonian Youth Symphony Orchestra complete a spectacular experience at Esterházy Palace.
Join us for a year full of musical highlights!
