Concerts in Esterházy Palace in Eisenstadt

Joseph Haydn was the great musical innovator of the 18th century. With classic.Esterhazy we visit his compositional milestones, especially in genres such as the string quartet and the symphony, forms that were created anew here at Esterházy Palace.

Dear audience,

Music is the art form that speaks to us most directly and vividly, as it fills us with sounds and melodies in the moment and can thus
can transport feelings and thoughts across the centuries. Joseph Haydn in particular is brought back to life in the Haydn Hall, where many of his works were premiered. But alongside him, the music of Mozart and Beethoven - the triumvirate of Viennese Classicism - as well as works from the Baroque to the modern era will also be performed.

Our resident orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, this time offers a complete cycle of Ludwig van Beethoven's piano concertos with the Korean pianist Sunwook Kim as well as a romantic program with Sir Antonio Pappano and the young Spanish violinist María Dueñas.

Other highlights include the “quartetto plus” festival, the Mother's Day concert with the ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, our popular summer concert and two outstanding singers of our time - Kate Lindsey and Jeanine de Bique - who will perform works by Haydn and from the Baroque period. At the beginning of the year, we welcome old master Sir András Schiff with concertos and symphonies by Haydn and Mozart - so, as always, familiar and popular works are mixed with musical delicacies that make our concerts an experience for all the senses.

Sincerely

Andreas Richter
Artistic Director
