"Stylistically, he is not bound by any constraints: he does not deny his Turkish roots, but is anchored in a cosmopolitan culture and would not dream of concealing his love of jazz. He is just his own person, an individualist, far from any ideology, multi-talented and a bridge builder between cultures": Fazil Say is one of the most remarkable musicians of our time. In his piano concerto "Silk Road", the composer and pianist takes his audience on a sound journey through Tibet, India, Mesopotamia and finally Anatolia. The famous slow movement from Mozart's magnificent C major concerto K. 467, on the other hand, invites you to travel to your inner world. The musical influences of Turkish instruments - cymbals, triangle and bass drum - on Mozart, and also in Haydn's captivating "Military Symphony", can be felt in the rest of this wide-ranging programme by the renowned Camerata Salzburg.
